Mr. Inspiration 2018

The Mister Inspiration 2018 pageant celebrated the dreams and lives of local men with disabilities. These inspiring men face significant life challenges, but their stories of overcoming limitations and living their lives inspire and uplift those around them. The pageant featured 16 very special gentlemen with a variety of disabilities and life histories and gives them the opportunity to take the stage in a classy and fun competition.

This year's theme was "The Unsinkable," inspired by the musical "The Unsinkable Molly Brown," which ran at the SCERA Center for the Arts on pageant day. Mid-February, the contestants posed for photographs as the captain, and don't they look handsome!

As the day grew near, each gentleman prepared his “platform" with the help of a volunteer sponsor. Platforms were presented as a display at the event describing his interests, life story, and dreams.

The day arrived, and contestants, sponsors, and staff met early at the SCERA Center for the Arts to set up their displays. The displays were colorful, full of pictures and memories, and the contestants dressed to the nines in tuxedos.

The pageant judges, local royalty volunteering their time and experiences in the pageant circuit, met and talked with each contestant and their sponsor at their display. There was music and laughter, impressions and dancing, and lots of smiles all around. The pageant itself was a tribute to the wonderful lives the contestants had lived.
