Express Yourself

Tiera Cowden was born in Provo, Utah and is the oldest of ten children. She currently lives in Spanish Fork with her family and attends the Garden Park Learning Center.

At the age of 3 she became deaf, however, this never stopped or discouraged her from interacting with others. Tiera is fluent in sign language, and is very patient with people who are learning ASL. She is always happy to teach them new signs and phrases.

Tiera was crowned Miss Inspiration in 2017, and frequently attends events in her royal capacity. She likes to feel noticed and dress well. She always pays special attention to detail and how she presents herself. Recently she attended the Everest Open House to cut the grand opening ribbon.

Tiera works daily as part of TURN Supported Employment, and has been called a great worker. She is always in a good mood, and likes to participate in whatever activity they are working on. Though previously very shy, she is now more expressive and wants to help others laugh and feel good.
